Gurugram administration's work from home advisory after heavy rains flood roads

| @indiablooms | Sep 23, 2022, at 07:00 pm

Following a heavy rain prediction that could lead to massive traffic snarls on Friday, Gurugram administration has advised all private and corporate offices to work from home.

On Thursday, heavy downpour caused waterlogging in several parts of the city leading to traffic congestion.

Moderate to heavy rainfall is likely on Friday, the weather department has said and issued a "yellow alert".

"In view of heavy rainfall prediction, there are chances of waterlogging and traffic congestion. Therefore, all corporate offices and private institutions in the district are advised to guide their employees to work from home so that traffic congestion can be avoided," the Gurugram disaster management authority said in its advisory.

The authorities have also advised all schools and colleges to remain closed today.

The fresh bout of heavy rainfall as the monsoon retreats will help make up for the huge deficit, which is estimated at 46 percent till September 22 morning, to some extent.

The incessant rains also brought down the temperature in the city to a minimum temperature of 23.8 degrees Celsius and a maximum temperature of 28 degrees Celsius today,  which is seven degrees lower, bringing relief from the heat, and humid weather.
