Hyderabad: In a tragic incident, a doctor from the RMP (Registered Medical Practitioner) allegedly took his own life after murdering his wife in Janwada village, Shankarpalli Mandal, Rangareddy district on Friday night.

According to the police, Dr Nagaraju and his wife, Sudha, had been residing in Janwada village with their two sons for the past six months.

The couple had been experiencing domestic problems, leading to frequent arguments between them.

On Friday night, their altercation escalated, and in a fit of rage, Dr Nagaraju attacked his wife with a knife, fatally slitting her throat.

Sudha succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

Subsequently, Nagaraju consumed poison and took his own life.

Before his suicide, he also attempted to harm his elder son, who managed to escape and sought help from the locals before reporting the incident to the police.

Acting on the complaint, the police registered a case and sent the bodies of Nagaraju and Sudha to Osmania Hospital for postmortem examination.

Further investigations are currently underway.
