Jammu and Kashmir: CUK to organise motivational lectures, online quiz competition for students

Srinagar: Central University of Kashmir (CUK) Vice Chancellor, Prof Mehrajuddin Mir Tuesdaysaid that the university would organise motivational lectures and week-long onlineextracurricular activities including online quiz and debate competitions for the studentsto de-stress them.

“COVID-19 pandemic has caused a lot of anxiety and stress among the students whohave been confined to their homes and in order to de-stress them, the university willorganise a series of lectures on mental health wherein the experts will provide ways andmeans to counter the stress,” a statement of CUK quoted Prof Mir as saying whileinteracting with the faculty members during a series of meetings, organised after May 3,2020, to take stock of the ongoing teaching-learning process, through the online mode. 

He expressed satisfaction over the teaching-learning methods adopted by the facultymembers and said that the varsity would make every possible effort to complete thesyllabi of the students. 

Prof Mir asked the faculty members to remain in constant touchwith the students and asked them to act as their mentors. 

Prof Mir earlier held a series of online meetings with the Class Representatives (CRs) ofvarious departments and listened to the queries and concerns flagged by themRegistrar, Prof M Afzal Zargar said that the university was committed to provide qualityeducation under all circumstances including in the online mode. 

He asked the students to provide feedback regarding the online teaching-learning processto the Directorate of Internal Quality Assurance (DIQA) so that deficiencies would beredressed immediately.Director DIQA Prof Wali Muhammad Shah asked the faculty members to utilize theservices of the ITSS to provide uninterrupted online teaching to the students.
