Jammu and Kashmir: Grenades lobbed during Shopian CASO

| @indiablooms | Aug 17, 2022, at 03:21 pm

Srinagar: Militants lobbed grenades on forces during a cordon and search operation in the Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir last night, police said on Wednesday.

While there was no damage or injury in the attack, the militants managed to escape the cordon.

Police said a CASO was launched on a specific input by security forces in Kutpora Shopian late Tuesday.

"During search, terrorists lobbed grenades on the search party. Search party also retaliated. However terrorists escaped due to darkness," a police tweet said.

Police and security forces busted a hideout inside a house and recovered arms and ammunition, it added.

Earlier Tuesday, a Kashmiri Pandit, Sunil Kumar Bhat, was shot dead and his brother was injured in a militant attack in the district.
