Jammu and Kashmir: Police arrest one Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist

Srinagar, Aug 2 (IBNS): The police have arrested one Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist from Jammu and Kashmir's Qazipora area on Wednesday, media reports said on Friday.

The arrested terrorist has been identified as Showkat Ahmad Tantary, a resident of Damhal Hanji Pora in Kulgam district, reported India Today.

According to the report published by the magazine, he was affiliated with the proscribed terror outfit Hizbul Mujahideen and was wanted by law for complicity in a series of terror crimes.

Police also recovered incriminating materials, including arms and ammunition from him.

The police have registered an FIR at PS Chadoora police station in Budgam  in connection with the matter.
