Jammu and Kashmir: Two arrested with poppy straw in Kathua

Jammu, Jun 3 (UNI) A team of special operation group and police on Monday arrested two persons including a truck driver with contraband of poppy straw in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir.

"Two persons have been arrested this morning with contraband of poppy straw from a Punjab bound truck in Dayalachak area of Kathua," SSP Sandeep Mehta, SOG Jammu here said.

He said that two persons namely Sagar Singh (driver), resident of Chak Lahot, District Ludhiana and his Co Driver Harjeet Singh, resident of Haindoo, Raipur, District Ludhiana were arrested on the spot.

During search, 90 KG of poppy straw was seized from the vehicle.
