Kerala : BJP state President invites superstar Mohanlal to join party and contest elections
Thiruvanthapuram, Sept 6 (IBNS) :BJP Kerala State President, P S Sreedharan Pillai has officially invited Malayalam superstar Mohanlal to join the party and contest the elections, media reports said.
Pillai, however, said that the party has not held any discussions with Mohanlal to this effect. "The party is glad to welcome Mohanlal if he is ready to join the BJP," he said.
It was earlier reported that the RSS was pushing for Mohanlal's entry into the party.
Mohanlal had met PM Narendra Modi on Monday, further fuelling speculations.
With Kerala Assembly elections approaching, the BJP has been pushing hard for a breakthrough in the Marxist-ruled state.
