Lok Sabha passes bill to replace note ban ordinance
New Delhi, Feb 7 (IBNS): The Lok Saba on Tuesday passed the Specified Bank Notes (Cessation of Liabilities) Bill, 2017.
The bill formally made the move to ban old Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 currency notes a law.
The bill was moved in the lower House of the Parliament on last Friday.
The Indian government on Nov 8 announced the banning of the old Rs 500 and Rs1000 currency notes.
