Maharashtra: Congress holds meeting on organisational strength ahead of Lok Sabha polls

Mumbai/UNI: Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Nana Patole has said the party's target is to defeat the BJP and the strategy will be finalised in the upcoming MVA meeting.

Ahead of that, the Congress is trying to formulate a winning strategy for the upcoming polls.

MPCC will review the Lok Sabha constituencies for two days. The meeting will discuss how to win a big victory in the upcoming elections.

"We will try to do a review of our strength in every constituency," Patole said.

"We have strong organisation strength in every constituency in the state. However, though we will review our strengths in every constituency, it will not have any impact on the alliance's seat allocation," he said.

He claimed that there is a lot of discontent against the BJP across the country and the Congress is the only alternative for the people.

"Maharashtra is the state with the highest number of Lok Sabha seats - 48 - after Uttar Pradesh, which has 80 seats. The strategy of what can be done to win each of these seats will be decided in this meeting.

"The Samajwadi Party, PWP, Communist Party of India, which are constituent parties of MVA will also be taken into consideration while allocating seats," he added.
