Manipur police destroy 25 acres illegal poppy plant

Imphal/IBNS: Continuing its war against illegal drugs, the Manipur police conducted illegal poppy plant destruction drive at Kangchup Geljang Hill range under Kangchup police station in Kangpokpi district on Monday.

The drive was led by SDO Kangchup Geljang, Additional SP (Ops) Kangpokpi, DSP Kangpokpi, Range Forest Officer (RFO) Kangpokpi, district Police Kangpokpi and NAB officers and personnel numbering 113 persons.

About 25 acres of area growing poppy plants were destroyed.

The poppy cultivation area of K Geljang Hill Range is about 20 km South West of Kangchup police station.

Appropriate formalities had been taken at the concerned police station for further necessary action.
