Kolkata/IBNS: A massive fire broke out on the third floor of Acropolis Mall in Kolkata on Friday afternoon, media reports said.

A fire broke out at the food court of the mall, which is located in Kasba area of South Kolkata.

15 fire tenders were rushed to the spot.

No casualty has been reported. Visitors and employees of offices located in the mall are evacuated.

The cause of the fire is not known.

The situation is now under control.

Fire and Emergency Services Minister Sujit Bose, who was present on spot, said, "Two ladders have been given. We have instructed to break the glasses for ventilation."

In a statement, the Acropolis Mall authirites said adequate measures are being taken to find out the cause of the fire and conduct the internal investigation.

"We at acropolis mall are a responsible corporate house. We have been running the mall successfully for the last 9 years and no such untoward incident happened before this. We will take adequate measures to find out what exactly happened and conduct the internal investigation.

"We are very thankful that no casualties happened and we would find out exact reason of fire and take adequate measure. We are trying to get the normalcy as early as possible. Most likely by tomorrow, we will be back the establishment here or will be back in business," said Krishna Jha, senior operations manager of Acropolis Mall.

Jha also thanked the West Bengal fire service department and the police for "very quick response".

This is the second such incident reported from Kolkata in a week's time.

On June 11, a massive fire broke out at an under-construction restaurant in Camac Street area of Kolkata.
