In this regard, he welcomed the setting up of centres to deal with organized crime, drug trafficking and cyber security.

He called for a similar approach by the group to reforming multilateral institutions, including the United Nations.

Modi on Monday congratulated the Chinese government for successfully hosting the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit in Tianjin and described his visit to China as 'productive'.

"Concluding a productive visit to China, where I attended the SCO Summit and interacted with various world leaders. Also emphasised India’s stand on key global issues. Thankful to President Xi Jinping, the Chinese government and people for the successful organisation of this Summit," he wrote on X.

Modi visited China after a gap of seven years.

During his meeting with Chinese Presidetn Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the summit, Modi said an "atmosphere of peace and stability" has been created after the disengagement on the border.

"Last year in Kazan, we had very fruitful discussions, which gave a positive direction to our relations. After the disengagement on the border, an atmosphere of peace and stability has been created," he said.
