More than 1000 bottles of cough syrup seized in Assam’s Karimganj district

Guwahati, June 28 (IBNS): Police had seized huge cache of illegal cough syrup from a passenger bus and arrested the driver of the vehicle in Assam’s Karimganj district last night.

According to the reports, during regular checking at Churaibari area in the district, police had seized 1600 bottles of cough syrup from a passenger bus bearing registration number AS-01HC-9909.

The bus was coming from Guwahati to Agartala in Tripura.

Police had arrested the driver of the vehicle and registered a case Churaibari police station.

“We detained the vehicle and searched the vehicle and found 1600 bottles of cough syrup. In this connection, we arrested the driver of the vehicle and registered a case,” a police officer said.
