Mulayam Singh's younger son Prateek Yadav dies at 38

Prateek Yadav, son of late Samajwadi Party founder and ex-UP CM Mulayam Singh Yadav, has died in Lucknow, media reports said.

He was 38.

According to reports, he was married to BJP leader Aparna Yadav.

Sources told India Today Prateek was brought to Lucknow’s Civil Hospital at around 6 am on Wednesday for treatment, where doctors declared him dead.

Sources told the news channel that Prateek Yadav had been unwell for some time.

He was reportedly admitted to Medanta Hospital in Lucknow a few years ago.

Condoling his death, the Samajwadi Party wrote on X: "The demise of Shri Pratik Yadav Ji is extremely heartbreaking!"

"May God grant peace to the departed soul. Humble tribute!" the party said.

He used to run an organization named "Jeev Ashray," which treats and cares for street dogs.

His wife Aparna Yadav, a prominent BJP leader, is currently the Vice president of the Uttar Pradesh Women's Commission.
