Narendra Modi to visit Bangladesh on Mar 26 for two days to attend Mujib Borsho events
New Delhi: Indian PM Narendra Modi will visit Bangladesh on Mar 26, the first nation he will be visiting since the outbreak of the Covid pandemic.
India Ministry of External Affairs said the PM's decision to visit the neighbouring nation showcases the priority India attaches to Bangladesh.
He will visit Bangladesh on Mar 26 and 27.
This visit is in connection with the commemoration of three epochal events - Mujib Borsho, the birth centenary of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman; 50 years of the establishment of diplomatic ties between India and Bangladesh; and 50 years of Bangladesh’s war of liberation. Prime Minister had last visited Bangladesh in 2015, read a statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs.
During the visit, Prime Minister will attend the National Day programme of Bangladesh on March 26, as the guest of honour.
Meanwhile, Narendra Modi has paid homage to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, on his birth anniversary.

The Prime Minister said, "My heartfelt homage to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, a champion of human rights and freedom, on his birth anniversary. He is a hero for all Indians too. It will be my honour to visit Bangladesh later this month for the historic #MujibBorsho celebrations."
