Srinagar, May 23 (UNI): The National Conference (NC) is set to win all three seats in Kashmir valley while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has taken a massive lead in the Ladakh parliamentary constituency seat.

Meanwhile, Congress and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have failed to open their account in the state, where two Jammu seats – Jammu and Udhampur - were retained by the BJP.

However, the final results will be announced only after counting of Voter Verified Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT).

NC president Farooq Abdullah will be comfortably re-elected from Srinagar Parliamentary constituency as he is leading by a margin of over 70,000 votes from his nearest rival, PDP’s Aga Syed Mohsin.

Meanwhile, NC candidate Justice Hasnain Masoodi (Rtd) is also set to win by a margin of about 8,000 votes from his nearest rival, J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) chief Ghulam Ahmad Mir in Anantnag constituency while former chief minister and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Mehbooba Mufti is a distant third.

Another NC candidate Mohammad Akbar Lone would represent Baramulla Parliamentary constituency as he has taken a lead of about 30,000 votes from his nearest competitor – Raja Ajaz Ali of Peoples Conference (PC).

In Ladakh Lok Sabha seat, BJP candidate Jamyang Tsering Namgyal will win as he has taken a lead of 11,000 votes from his nearest competitor.

“Dr Abdullah has so far bagged 1,06,750 votes while PDP’s Aga Syed Mohsin has secured 36,609 votes,” official said, adding PC’s Irfan Raza Ansari was a distant third at 28,668 votes.

BJP’s Sheikh Khalid Jehangir managed to bag only 4,631 votes so far, out of which the highest 2,584 votes were migrant votes.

They said Mr Masoodi has so far secured 40,032 votes while his nearest rival Mr Mir has bagged 32,879 votes in Anantnag Lok Sabha seat, adding Ms Mehbooba has received 30,223 votes.

BJP’s Sofi Yousuf has so far managed to secure 9,687 votes, out of which the highest 7,251 votes were migrant votes.
