Vijayawada/IBNS: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and lauded people after his state received a hefty amount from the Union Budget 2024, which was presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday.

In a long post on X, Naidu said, "Andhra Pradesh has won! The people of Andhra Pradesh have won! Today, my heart is filled with gratitude. I thank the people of our state for blessing the TDP-JSP-BJP alliance with an overwhelming mandate to serve them. Together, we have won a battle to reclaim our state, and together, we will rebuild it.

"I thank Hon’ble PM @narendramodi Ji, @AmitShah Ji and @JPNadda Ji for their commitment to AP’s future. I congratulate @PawanKalyan Garu and the Jana Sena Party; and @PurandeswariBJP Garu and @BJP4Andhra for our big win."

"This significant victory is the result of the hard work and dedication of our leaders and karyakarthas, who fought bravely against all odds until the last vote was cast. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to each one of them for their unwavering commitment and congratulate them on this outstanding achievement!"

Sitharaman on Tuesday made major announcements for two states, Andhra Pradesh and Bihar, which are ruled by the Modi government's key allies, Telugu Desam Party and Janata Dal (United) respectively.

Delivering the Union Budget 2024, Sitharaman announced Special Financial Support for Andhra Pradesh, which is ruled by Naidu's TDP in an alliance with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Jana Sena Party (JSP).

Budget will facilitate 15,000 crore for Andhra with additional amounts in coming years.

After Prime Minister Narendra Modi's BJP failed to secure a simple majority in the April-June Lok Sabha polls, the saffron camp needed the mandatory support of its allies to form the government for the third consecutive term.

The TDP and JD (U), which have 16 and 12 seats respectively in Lok Sabha, have emerged as key allies of the BJP, which won 240 seats, which are 32 short of the majority mark (272).
