Powerful IED recovered from Assam railway track

Guwahati, Feb 27 (IBNS): Security forces on Friday recovered a liquid petroleum cylinder based powerful Improvised Explosive Device (IED) from a railway track in Assam's Goalpara district, officials said.
The IED was recovered at Barigaon area near Dudhnoi in the lower Assam district in Goalpara - Dudhnoi - Mendipathar - Guwahati railway track during the joint operation of Army Red Horn division and Assam police.
 
Defence spokesman based in Guwahati Suneet Newton said that, later bomb squad team had defused the IED.
 
Suspected militants had planted the IED at the railway track for a major explosion.
