Pranab Mukherjee wishes people of Chile on National Day eve

New Delhi, Sept 17 (IBNS): President Pranab Mukherjee on Saturday extended his greetings and felicitations to the Government and the people of the Republic of Chile on the eve of their National Day.

In a message to Michelle Bachelet Jeria, the President of the Republic of Chile, Mukherjee said, “On behalf of the Government, the people of India and on my own behalf, it is with great pleasure that I extend warm greetings and felicitations to you, the Government and the people of Chile on the occasion of your National Day."

"India and Chile enjoy warm and friendly bilateral relations. Our convergence of views on many international issues of common interest brings our two nations even closer. We share a commitment to democracy, distributive justice and empowerment of women. I am confident that the enhanced level of our bilateral cooperation in recent years will further strengthen our mutual understanding and multifaceted ties," he said.

Mukherjee said: "I take this opportunity to convey my best wishes for your personal well-being and for the progress and prosperity of the friendly people of Chile.”
