President to present Gandhi Peace Prize 2014 to ISRO
New Delhi, Sept 8 (IBNS) President of India Pranab Mukherjee will present the Gandhi Peace Prize for the year 2014 to Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) on Wednesday at a function at Rashtrapati Bhavan here, officials said on Tuesday.
The Gandhi Peace Prize was instituted by the Government of India in 1995 on the occasion of the 125th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
"This annual award is given to individuals and institutions for their contributions towards social, economic and political transformation through non-violence and other Gandhian methods," read a government statement on Tuesday.
