Rajasthan Police visit team Sachin Pilot's camp near Delhi, briefly stopped by Haryana cops

New Delhi/IBNS: A team of Rajasthan Police on Friday visited the two fancy resorts in Manesar near New Delhi where the 18 Congress's rebel MLAs from Rajasthan are camping since last weekend.

According to reports, the cops were briefly stopped by the Haryana Police before being allowed inside the resorts.

This comes on a day when cases were filed against Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and rebel Congress MLA Bhanwar Lal Sharma for allegedly conspiring against the Congress government in Rajasthan.

Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala earlier in the day said two audio recordings have surfaced where Sharma was heard having discussions with BJP leaders.

However, Surjewala didn't play the recordings at the press conference.

Sharma has already been suspended by the party.

Soon after the arrival of Rajasthan Police team at the resort on Friday, the Haryana Police also turned up leading to a brief show-down between them.

The Congress has alleged that Rajasthan's former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot, who has rebelled against the Ashok Gehlot government, has sought the cover of the BJP administration by selecting resorts in Haryana.

Earlier Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot had accused Pilot of being directly involved in horse-trading with the BJP for toppling his government even as the rebel leader ruled any possibility of him joining the saffron party.

"The former PCC chief was involved in dealings with BJP. I have proof of horse-trading," Gehlot had told media in Jaipur.

The Rajasthan CM said he has proof that horse-trading was committed and money was offered to those who rebelled.

The Congress' political crisis in the desert state entered into the courtroom on Thursday after 19 rebel MLAs along with former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot challenged Assembly Speaker CP Joshi's disqualification order, filing a petition in the Rajasthan High Court.

The Congress plunged into a political crisis last week after then Rajasthan Deputy CM Pilot along with his loyalists flew to New Delhi turning rebel against CM Ashok Gehlot, exposing the power-struggle within the party.

After Pilot had skipped two consecutive meetings of Congress MLAs- chaired by Gehlot- the Rajasthan unit of the grand old party on Tuesday sacked the rebel leader as the Deputy CM as well as the party chief in the state.

Meanwhile, the BJP, which has 75 seats in the assembly, is closely watching the political development maintaining a safe distance.

If 19 Congress MLAs are indeed disqualified, proving the majority in the house will just be a cakewalk for Gehlot as the majority mark will immediately come down.

However, the Congress has still kept its door open for Pilot, the architect of Congress' victory in the 2018 assembly polls, amid reports claiming the former Union Minister may also float his own party.
