Scarlett Keeling's death: Both accused acquitted

Panaji, Sept 23 (IBNS): A Goa court on Friday acquitted two accused in the case related to 15-year-old British teenager Scarlett Keeling's death in Goa in 2008.

The Goa children's court acquitted Samson D'souza and Placido Carvalho,two  local shack workers, who were accused of raping her and causing her death.

The body of the girl was found at Anjuna beach in Goa on Feb 18, 2008.

Scarlett's mother Fiona MacKeown told media that she was devastated by the judgement in the case.

The judgement was given by the court eight years after the incident occurred.
