Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation  Amit Shah has said that separatism has become history in Kashmir and lauded PM Narendra Modi-led government for the achievement.

In his post on X platform Home Minister said, the unifying policies of the Modi government have tossed separatism out of Jammu and Kashmir.

He made the remarks at a time when two organizations associated with the Hurriyat have announced the severing of all ties with separatism.

Amit Shah said that he welcomes this step towards strengthening 'Bharat's unity' and urge all such groups to come forward and shed separatism once and for all.

Shah said that it is a 'big victory' for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of building a developed, peaceful and 'unified Bharat'.

Earlier this month, the Indian government declared ‘Jammu & Kashmir Ittihadul Muslimeen’ (JKIM)’ and ‘Awami Action Committee (AAC)’ as unlawful associations for a period of 5 years under Section 3(1) of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) 1967.

In his X post, Shah said that these organizations were found inciting people to cause law and order situations, posing a threat to the unity and integrity of the country.

He said that anyone found involved in activities against the nation's peace, order, and sovereignty is bound to face the crushing blow of the Modi government.

"The members of ‘Jammu & Kashmir Ittihadul Muslimeen’ (JKIM)’ and ‘Awami Action Committee (AAC)’ are involved in promoting and aiding the secession of Jammu and Kashmir from India by indulging in anti-national and subversive activities, such as sowing seeds of discontent among the people; inciting people to destabilise law and order; supporting terrorism and promoting hatred against the established Government," read a statement issued by the Indian government.

The Modi-led government has declared ten separatist organizations in Jammu and Kashmir unlawful associations under the UAPA since coming to power in 2014.
