SP to contest 37 seats in Assam assembly poll
SP’s Assam unit president Hafiz Rashid Ahmed Choudhury said that the party has decided to contest from 11 constituencies in first phase and 26 constituencies in second phase of assembly polls in the state.
The party has announced candidates list for six constituencies for first phase. The candidates are – Samir Uddin Laskar (Hailakandi), Jamal Uddin Laskar (Katlichera), Sahidul Islam Laskar (Algapur), Sahin Ahmed Choudhury (Silchar), Aparna Tewari (Udharband) and Haji Alauddin Choudhury (Katigorah).
“Name of candidates for other constituencies for first and second phase will be announced after approval by the party,” Choudhury said.
