New Delhi/UNI: The Supreme Court on Monday agreed to once again extend the limitation period to file cases across the country keeping in view the surge in COVID-19 infections.

A three-judge bench headed by the Chief Justice NV Ramana and also comprising Justices L Nageswara Rao and Surya Kant allowed the request by Supreme Court Advocates-on-Record Association (SCAORA) to relax the limitation period.

"We are accepting the prayer of SCAORA," the bench said.

The application was filed by the SCAORA seeking its directions and orders for restoration of apex court's Mar 23, 2020, and Apr 27, 2021 orders.

The bench asked Attorney General KK Venugopal to share a draft of what should be incorporated in the order.
