UN peace keeping delegation visits India

New Delhi, July 27 (IBNS): A four member UN delegation led by Herve Ladsous, Under Secretary General of United Nations at the Department of Peace Keeping Operations called on Chief of Army Staff, General Bikram Singh, Defence Secretary and VCOAS RK Mathur recently.
The delegation appreciated India’s contribution to global peacekeeping efforts.
 
Ladsous commended the professionalism, commitment and dedication of Indian peace keepers. 
 
The discussions covered a wide range of issues related to current UN peace keeping efforts including emerging trends and associated challenges. 
 
Discussions were also held on enhancing the effectiveness of UN lead peace efforts in future.
