US: 35-year-old Indian-origin software engineer found dead in Microsoft's Silicon Valley office

An Indian-origin Microsoft Corp. software engineer was found dead at the IT giant's Silicon Valley campus recently.

The 35-year-old employee was identified as Pratik Pandey.

He badged into the office on the evening of Aug. 19 and was found dead in the early hours of the following morning, a family member who has spoken with Microsoft was quoted as saying by Bloomberg.

The family member requested anonymity to discuss a personal matter.

He was known to frequently work late into the night, the family member said.

The cause of the death is still not known.

Microsoft did not comment on the death of the techie so far.

Microsoft is still investigating the death, a person familiar with the matter told Bloomberg.

Bloomberg reported that he worked on Microsoft’s Fabric product, which is used to analyze data and competes with companies like Snowflake Inc.

As per his LinkedIn profile, Pandey worked for Apple Inc. and  Walmart Inc before joining Microsoft.
