Uttar Pradesh: Bodies of excise inspector, wife found in Ghaziabad

Bulandshahr: Bodies of an Excise Inspector in Delhi and his wife were recovered from the jungle in Muradnagar area in Ghaziabad district here in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday, a senior officer said.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shlok Kumar said that Ranpal Singh (42), a resident of Vaishali in Delhi, along with his wife Rekha (38) had come to celebrate Holi with his family in ancestral village Derwa in Bibi Nagar police station in Bulandshahr.

"The couple left for Delhi after celebrating Holi on the same day around 3 pm," he said.

He said that Ranpal's brother Rati Pal lodged a missing complaint on March 9 when the couple did not reach their home till late on March 8 night and could be contacted over phone.

"On Saturday morning their bodies were found from the jungle in Gang Nagar area in Muradnagar. Their family members have left for Ghaziabad," he said.

The SSP said that Ranpal was a retired army man and was currently posted as inspector in Delhi's excise department. Meanwhile, the deceased's brother Rati Pal has expressed suspicion of murder.
