West Bengal: CRPF recovers live landmine from West Medinipur forest

| | Feb 17, 2017, at 01:48 am
Kolkata/West Medinipur, Feb 16 (IBNS): Basing on credible source inputs, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel on Thursday morning recovered a live landmine from Chandbila area under Kotowali Police Station limits in West Bengal's West Medinipur district, reports said.

According to reports, during search operations, an unit of CRPF detected the ten-kg landmine from a soil road inside forest zone.

Later, the bomb disposal squad of the Central force went to the spot and defused the newly implanted landmine.

However, CRPF and local police have started probe into the matter.

After preliminary investigation, CRPF officials said that Maoists might have implanted the bomb to attack security personnel.
