Mumbai/IBNS: Abhishek Bachchan tested negative for Covid-19 on Saturday, six days after his 77-year-old father tested negative for the contagion.

"A promise is a promise! This afternoon I tested Covid-19 NEGATIVE! I told you guys I'd beat this. Thank you all for your prayers for me and my family. My eternal gratitude to the doctors and nursing staff at Nanavati hospital for all that they have done. THANK YOU!" an elated Abhishek Bachchan tweeted.

After spending 29 days in Nanavati Hospital, where he was admitted along with his father for Covid treatment, Abhishek posted his Care Plan which showed he was discharged.

On July 11, the actor and his father were admitted to hospital after testing Covid positive. Days after, his wife actor Aishwarya Rai and their eight-year-old daughter Aradhya were also admitted for Covid-19, but were released on July 27, after testing negative.
