Actress Madhumati dies at 87, Akshay Kumar calls her his 'forvever guru'

Yesteryear Bollywood actress Madhumati, who is known for her performance in movies like Ankhen and Mujhe Jeene Do, has died.

She was 87.

A flamboyant dancer, she was often compared with Bollywood's dancing legend Helen.

The cause of her death is still not known.

Actor Akshay Kumar said he learnt dancing from Madhumati and called her his 'forever guru'.

In his nostalgic X post, Kumar wrote: "My first and forever guru. Everything I know about dance, I learnt at your feet, Madhumati ji. Har ada, har expression mein aapki yaad hamesha saath rahegi. Om Shanti."

Kumar also shared an old image of himself with his dancing teacher.

Actor Vindhu Dara Singh said: "Rest in peace our teacher and guide #Madhumati ji. A beautiful life led filled with love and blessings from so many of us who learnt dancing from this legend."
