Akshay Kumar's sports drama Gold to release in IMAX format

Mumbai, Aug 1 (IBNS): Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar's upcoming movie Gold will release in IMAX format, makers said on Wednesday.

Actor Akshay Kumar, who is playing the lead in the sports drama, tweeted: " Excited to share the news that you can experience Gold in IMAX. Watch the new 60 sec trailer launching with IMAX tomorrow. Stay tuned! #GoldIMAXTrailer @excelmovies @IMAX."

The movie is directed by Reema Kagti and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under the Excel Entertainment banner.

It stars Akshay Kumar, Mouni Roy, Kunal Kapoor, Vineet Kumar Singh, Amit Sadh and Sunny Kaushal.

The movie is based on India’s first Olympic gold medal victory.

IMAX is a system of high-resolution cameras, film formats and film projectors. 

This film format can display images of far greater size and resolution than conventional film display systems, providing more exciting movie watching experience to cinema lovers.
