Alia Bhatt prefers to invest money in FDs, bonds, mutual funds

Mumbai/IBNS: Alia Bhatt may have become one of the leading Bollywood actresses very early in her career but when it comes to spending money, the Highway girl is rather conservative.

In an interview with The Economic Times, Bhatt spilled the beans about her expenditure and how she remains well within her budget.

Bhatt, who claimed to have never bought expensive things as a teenager, said, "I can live within a budget. I don’t spend that much. My chartered accountant often tells me, ‘Why don’t you spend more?"

Revealing the areas in which she prefers to invest, the 26-year old Bollywood star said, "I still don’t understand investing, but over the years, I’ve become keen to learn more. My home (in Juhu, Mumbai) is the first property I bought. I invest in FDs and bonds. Mutual funds are good; so, I’ve been told.”

Bhatt said that her dream to buy a house in London has materialised in 2018.

Regarding her fantasy buys, she said, "A private jet would be a luxury. I have chartered one before, but not for a holiday. A home in the mountains is a dream. I’ll fulfill it later in life. I had a dream to buy a house in London and I did it in 2018. It’s in Covent Garden and my sister lives there part-time."

Bhatt, the daughter of filmmaker-producer Mahesh Bhatt, tasted success early in her career with films like Students of the Year, Highway, 2 States.
