Mumbai/IBNS: Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) host Amitabh Bachchan announced in the show on Friday that he would like to contribute towards a Rs 16 crore injection needed by a 17-month-old child, who is affected by Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA).

Farah said she would contribute whatever sum she wins on KBC towards procuring the world's most expensive injection.

According to Hindustan Times, Amitabh said in Hindi, “Ladies and gentlemen, Farah is playing for a 17-month-old child named Ayaansh, who is suffering from an illness.”

In a short video played during the episode, Ayaansh's mother said she noticed that the child was not able to move his limbs much even after turning seven months old.

On examination, doctor's revealed that he had SMA.

An emotional Farah said in Hindi, “By the time Ayaansh turns two, there's a medicine called Zolgensma, which is the world's most expensive injection. It costs Rs16 crore. And it could save his life. We want to save this child, sir.” Amitabh said, “I don't know if I should say this, but Farah, I would like to contribute personally as well. I will tell you the amount later, I don't want to discuss it here.”

Farah expressed her gratitude to Amitabh Bachchan with folded hands. “Sir, so grateful to you,” she said.

Amitabh appealed to the viewers to come forward and help in achieving the target of Rs 16 crore needed for the injection.
