Bon Jovi founding member Alec John Such dies

New Jersey: Popular band Bon Jovi on Monday said its founding member Alec John Such has died.

He was 70.

The band confirmed the development on Twitter.

"We are heartbroken to hear the news of the passing of our dear friend Alec John Such. He was an original. As a founding member of Bon Jovi, Alec was integral to the formation of the band," the band said in a statement.

Bon Jovi is an American rock band formed in 1983 in Sayreville, New Jersey.

Such had quit the band in 1994.

The band has given hits such as "Livin' On a Prayer" and "Wanted Dead or Alive".
