CBI For SSR: May the truth always prevail, Akshay Kumar on Supreme Court order

| @indiablooms | Aug 19, 2020, at 06:10 pm

Mumbai/IBNS: Reacting to the Supreme Court's order for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry into actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death, Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar on Wednesday hoped the truth would come out.

"SC directs CBI to investigate Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. May the truth always prevail," Akshay tweeted.

The top court has held the Bihar government's recommendation of a CBI probe into Sushant's death valid.

Sushant had committed suicide at his own flat in Mumbai's Bandra on Jun 14.

Though the Mumbai Police were probing into the suicide, Sushant's father KK Singh lodged a First Information Report (FIR) with Bihar Police alleging that Sushant's girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty had siphoned off Rs 15 crore from his son's account and other accounts of companies floated with his investments.

As per the recommendation by the Bihar government, the death case was handed over to the CBI by the central government.

However, Rhea, who had earlier requested Union Home Minister Amit Shah for a CBI inquiry into his late boyfriend's death, wanted the case to be transferred to Mumbai Police.

The suicide has created a ripple effect with several actors and netizens calling out Bollywood biggies for encouraging nepotism, allegedly leading Sushant to commit suicide.
