Mumbai/IBNS: Bollywood actress Disha Patani faced backlash on social media after she appealed to people to refrain from doing any harm to animals (sacrifice of animals) on the occasion of Diwali.

Wishing her fans on Diwali, Patani tweeted, "Happy Diwali. Be kind to animals."

Netizens immediately hit back at Patani asking her why she consumes chicken.

Slamming Patani, one user says, "People like Disha Patani express concern for animals on Twitter and eat chicken, mutton in Dinner."

Another user taunts the actress saying, "Disha is so kind to animals that she saves them inside her stomach."

One Rosy says, "This is how Disha Patani shows "KINDNESS TO ANIMALS"- by eating them. Apna kuch Patani but has to give gyan on #Diwali #dishapatani."
