His journey has been iconic: Narendra Modi greets Rajinikanth on completing 50 years in world of cinema

Indian PM Narendra Modi on Friday wished Rajinikanth for completing 50 years in the world of cinema and even described his journey as 'iconic'.

In his X post, Modi wrote: "Congratulations to Thiru Rajinikanth Ji on completing 50 glorious years in the world of cinema. His journey has been iconic, with his diverse roles having left a lasting impact on the minds of people across generations. Wishing him continued success and good health in the times to come."

Modi shared a file image of himself with the southern superstar on his X handle.

Rajinikanth responded to the greeting and said he felt deeply grateful for his wish.

The superstar said: "Respected @narendramodi Modi ji, I am deeply grateful for your warm wishes. It is truly an honour to receive them from a leader I have long held in the highest regard. Thank you for your kind words. Jai Hind."

In his career, Rajinikanth is known for delivering several blockbuster movies that helped him establish himself as one of the biggest superstars in India.

He has worked in more than 160 films in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.

His latest movie Coolie released on August 14.
