Mumbai/IBNS: Music director Pritam, whose collaboration with KK has immortalised various Hindi songs, has broken his silence on the demise of the 53-year-old singer.

Speaking to India Today, KK said, "I am not able to believe it. I can't tell you how shocked I am. I am just not able to process it. Our last meeting was six months ago. Now it has become our last song together when we met in the studio during the recording that time. KK and I never spoke on phone much. We both started our careers almost around the same time.

"Those days, I used to make KK sing all my singles. I remember reciting Alvida to him at Galaxy studio. I told him, 'You will only sing this song whatever film I record it for'."

After the news of KK's death broke out, Pritam had tweeted, "In utter shock. Just heard about KK . Someone please tell me it's not true."

After his performance at the Nazrul Mancha, KK returned to his hotel in downtown Kolkata.

He felt sick there and was rushed to the hospital where he was declared brought dead at 10 pm.

KK's mortal remains will be taken by his family from Kolkata to Mumbai for the last rites.
