Indian spinning allrounder Ravindra Jadeja has announced his retirement from T20 International, just a day after skipper Rohit Sharma and star batsman Virat Kohli decided to end their career in the shortest format of the game after the team won the T20 World Cup in Barbados on Saturday.

Jadeja's run in the T20 World Cup was not impressive.

Announcing his decision, Jadeja wrote on Instagram: "With a heart full of gratitude, I bid farewell to T20 internationals. Like a steadfast horse galloping with pride, I’ve always given my best for my country and will continue to do so in other formats . Winning the T20 World Cup was a dream come true, a pinnacle of my T20 International career. Thank you for the memories, the cheers, and the unwavering support."

Since making his T20 debut in 2009, Jadeja played 74 matches in his career.

He scored 515 runs and took 54 wickets.

After India won the T20 World Cup for the second time in the history of the tournament by beating competitive South Africa in a thriller, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli announced their decision to retire from the shortest format of the game.
