'Bengal Warriors' hopes to make podium finish in Pro-Kbaddi League fifth season

Kolkata, July 25 (IBNS): 'Bengal Warriors' is all set to put up a much better show as the fifth edition of Viva Pro Kabaddi league begins from July 28.

Unveiling a new look and revitalized  Bengal Warriors, West Bengal Minister for Panchayett and Public Health Eengineering Subrata Mukherjee, who is also  president of West  Bengal unit of Amateur Kabaddi Federation of  India, said:  “Bengal Warriors  will produce  a much better performance, if not finish at he top this time.”

He said  like every year, the West Bengal Government will support Bengal Warriors this time as well. “Season five is going to be great for Bengal Warriors. I am sure we will do very well," Mukherjee added.

The Vivo Pro Kabaddi league has expended from eight to twelve teams this year.

The tournament will be three-month long  and  commence from July 28 in Hyderabad while the final would be played at Chennai on 28th October  next.

The home matches for Bengal Warriors will begin from September 1 and will continue till September 7.

CEO of the team Sandeep Tarkas said it had retained only two  players from the last group-  Korean raider Jang Kun Lee and  and  Ravindr Kumawat . 

The star players this time include  Surjit Singh of  U Mumba, Manider Singh and Ran Singh , both of whom  played for Jaipur Pink Panther in the last season.

"The new look team under the guidance of  Asian game Gold medalist  K Jagadeesha  is poised to give its best performance till date and its best shot at winning the the title,”  Tarkas said.
