Bengaluru, Apr 26 (IBNS): Several cricketers have started lauding former Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Ambati Rayudu for playing superb knocks to help Chennai Super Kings outplay Royal Challengers Bangalore in a match which came down to the wire in the 11th edition of Indian Premier League at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium here on Wednesday.

Dhoni has once again shown his class on field by smashing an unbeaten 70-run knock while Rayudu scored a massive innings of 82.

Following the win of Chennai, several cricketers have lauded Dhoni and Rayudu for their knocks.

Dhoni's teammate in Chennai Super Kings, Suresh Raina, tweeted, "Nothing can go wrong till @msdhoni is at the crease. Vintage stuff from captain cool!! An excellent innings from @RayuduAmbati to set things up for us. All in all a great win for @ChennaiIPL! Keep it boys! #RCBvCSK #IPL2018"

Indian spin bowler Harbhajan, who also plays for Chennai in IPL, tweeted, "Absolutely superb @msdhoni! This is why you're known as the best finisher! And a smashing innings from @RayuduAmbati! CSK all the way! #RCBvsCSK #WhistlePodu"

Spin bowler Pragyan Ojha said in a tweet, "It was a delight watching three amazing batting performances in a single match @ABdeVilliers17 for #rcb and #rayudu and the ever reliable @msdhoni. #RCBvCSK #VivoIPL18"

Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar tweeted, "The Dhoni shot I loved the best was that six in the 19th over off Siraj’s yorker over backward point. Destroyed him as a bowler and paved the way for the win. #Dhoni"

Cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle said on Twitter, "The legend grows. #MSDhoni"

Not only cricketers, Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan too enjoyed Dhoni's innings. His tweet reads, "What an amazing game #DHONI whatta hair cut and what a shot. Great game of cricket."

Chasing a target of 206, Chennai reached home with two balls to spare in the match.

Rayudu and Dhoni were the chief architects of Chennai's win with scores 82 (53) and 70 (34) respectively.

Rayudu has hit three fours and eight sixes while Dhoni went for just one boundary but seven half-a-dozen runs.

Like the 2011 World Cup final, Dhoni finished the match with a winning six on Wednesday.

Bangalore earlier scored 205/8 in 20 overs. AB de Villiers was the top scorer for Bangalore with 68.
