Germany to lock horns with Argentina in the World Cup 2014 finale
Rio de Janeiro, July 13 (IBNS): The month long soccer extravaganza of the 2014 FIFA World Cup will finally come to an end on Sunday as the world will be watching out the fierce battle between Argentina and Germany to bag the trophy.
Will it be Lionel Messi magic that will work for Argentina or the effort put up by the consistent Germans that will fetch them the success-is what billions of soccer fans across the globe are awaiting to see.
All eyes will be glued on the action that will take place at Maracana Stadium in Brazil on Sunday as three-time winners Germany and two-time champions Argentina will lock horns for the third time in the final.
The tournament is expected to spark memories of 1986 and 1990, when the two giants of the game recorded a win apiece.
Even as Lionel Messi is expected to create a mark in the finale, Joachim Low's men will certainly not be short on confidence in Rio de Janeiro, having stunned fans with their 7-1 semi-final win over the hosts.
Meanwhile, FIFA has officially announced the names of the ten players in the running for the adidas Golden Ball, which is awarded to the competition’s most outstanding performer.
The names include Angel Di Maria (Argentina), Mats Hummels (Germany), Toni Kroos (Germany), Philipp Lahm (Germany), Javier Mascherano (Argentina), Lionel Messi (Argentina), Thomas Muller (Germany), Neymar (Brazil), Arjen Robben (Netherlands) and James Rodriguez (Colombia).
