Kohli thanks Sachin Tendulkar for writing his profile in TIME's 100 most influential people list

New Delhi, Apr 20 (IBNS): Virat Kohli on Friday thanked former Indian player for writing the profile of the current Indian cricket team skipper in TIME's 100 most influential people list.

Kohli added one more golden feather to his thrown when he featured in the list published by the publication.

"Thank you @sachin_rt paaji for such warm and encouraging words. Truly honored for being able to make it to the @Time's 100 list. #Times100 #grateful ," Kohli tweeted.

Bollywood diva Deepika Padukone and Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli have featured in Time 100 list in their respective categories.

Deepika and Virat have featured in Artists' and Titans' categories respectively.

Deepika, who comes from a sporting background, made her Bollywood debut in 2007 with Om Shanti Om.

After her initial successes, the actress had to endure a list of commercially unsuccessful films. But Deepika made a strong comeback on the silver screen with Cocktail.

Following Cocktail, the 32-year old actress caught the limelight once again with films like Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Chennai Express, Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-leela, Bajirao Mastani, Piku and Padmaavat.

She had ventured into Hollywood too by featuring in xXx: Return of Xander Cage, starring opposite Vin Diesel.

The other Indian star, Virat Kohli's cricketing career sky-rocketed in last few years.

After leading his U-19 Indian team to World Cup victory, Virat made his debut in the national team in 2008.

Surviving initial hiccups, Virat's performance kept on improving. His four consecutive hundreds in four Test matches against Australia abroad in 2014 cemented his place in the team.

Apart from reigning with bat, Virat was also handed over the captaincy in Test matches after MS Dhoni's bid adieu to the longest format of cricket.

Later he assumed leadership duties in the shorter formats as well.

He is also the fastest batsman to reach 9000 runs and is considered to be a strong contender to break cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar's record of 100 hundreds.

Congratulating the two star performers of India, actress Priyanka Chopra tweeted,"So happy and proud to see my friends @deepikapadukone and @imVkohli on the #Time100 list.. Big congratulations and so well deserved #DesiPower #Represent"
