Abu Dhabi, Nov 2 (IBNS) Pakistan skipper Misbah-ul Haq on Sunday added a feather to his cap as he equalled the 28-year-old record for the fastest Test century on the fourth day of the second Test match against Australia.

Haq smashed the century in 56 balls. He hit 11 boundaries and five sixes in his knock.

He touched the record set by West Indian legend Viv Richards who had scored a 100 off 56 balls against England in 1986.

Haq, however, broke fastest Test half-century record by reaching the figure off 21 balls.

He broke the previous record set by South African cricketer Jacques Kallis.

Haq remained unbeaten at 101 off 57 balls.
