Cape Town, Jan 8 (IBNS): Indian cricketer Hardik Pandya's heroic knock in the first innings against South Africa in the first Test has drawn several comparisons and this time he was even equate to Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan.

Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar was quick in comparing Pandya's performance with the willow to the heroics of the screen legend.

"Like Amitabh Bachchan used to play those double roles, Hardik Pandya also showed two characters in his superb innings. The modern T20 player along with the orthodox classical Test batsman. #INDvSA #HardikPandya #SonyTen1," Sanjay tweeted.

Pandya is known for his T20 skills as he displayed during the IPL season and for India in the limited overs game.

However, his delivery with the willow during India's first innings where he scored 93 runs and reduced the gap with South Africa's 286 runs has been appreciated.

Pandya also picked up two wickets int he second innings as South Africa batted at 2/65 in the second innings.

They are 142 runs ahead of India.

The third day's play was washed out due to rain on Sunday.

India were bowled out for 209 runs.
