Sachin Tendulkar visits his adopted village

New Delhi, Nov 16 (IBNS): Indian batting icon Sachin Tendulkar visited his adopted village of Puttamrajuvari Kandriga near Gudur on Wednesday and said the area has become open defecation free.

"Proud to state our adopted village Puttamraju Kandriga is open defecation free #SwachhBharat The phase 1 work of SAGY is complete! @PMOIndia," Tendulkar tweeted.

He said :"It has been two years since Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana was launched by @PMOIndia Shri @narendramodi, focusing on development in villages."

Sharing pictures of his visit to the village, the cricketer posted: "Completely stumped by the love of people from Puttamraju Kandriga! Glad to announce that they are now Open Defecation Free! @swachhbharat."
