New Delhi, Dex 6 (IBNS) : A valiant ton by Sri Lankan batsmanDhananjaya De Silva and his successful partnerships with Roshen Silva (74 not out) and Dinesh Chandimal (36) gave India the proverbial slip between the cup and the lips as the visitors clinched a draw in the fourth and final test at the Feroz Shah Kotla ground here on Wednesday, denying the hosts a 2-0 win in the series.

Dhananjaya, who retired hurt after playing an anchor role to frustrate Indian attack, scored 119 in 219 balls in a display of determination, patience and application.

Sri Lanka, who needed an uphill task of scoring 410 and looked destined to lose the match badly, scored 299 for five wickets when the stumps were drawn.

Indian bowlers could not manage to pick up more than two wickets in the whole day.

India lead the three-match Test series 1-0.
