Melbourne/UNI: The second day of the Boxing Day Test here was delayed by half hour on Monday after two members of the English team's support staff were hit by Covid-19.

The two staffers and two of their family members were all found Covid positive amid the Ashes series.

The play started only after the Rapid Antigen Test of all the players came negative. Those who returned positive have been isolated.

"Cricket Australia has been informed that two members of the England Cricket Team’s support staff and two of their family members have returned positive Covid-19," a statement said.

"Both teams will take extra precautions throughout play. Both playing squads remain unchanged," Cricket Australia added.
