Twitter reacts as MS Dhoni dropped from T20I squads against Windies, Australia

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) acting secretary Amitabh Chaudhary on Friday late evening announced the Indian teams that did not feature Dhoni, who led the men-in-blue to the inaugural T20I world cup victory in 2007.

Chief selector MSK Prasad said the selection team is looking for a second wicket-keeper.

Prasad has been quoted by India Today as saying, "He (Dhoni) is not going to be play the six T20Is (West Indies and Australia) because we are looking at the second keeper's slot. So I think we will retain Rishabh (Pant) and Dinesh Karthik. So they will be getting a chance to keep and bat.

"It is not the end of Dhoni in T20Is."

Despite Prasad's assurance that Dhoni's T20I career is still unfinished, Twitterati went crazy at the decision of dropping the former skipper.

Alleging a double role and politics played by BCCI, Yash Saxena tweeted, "Anyone noticed how @BCCI coach captain and selectors played double game...first dropped Dhoni Then rested kohli & Want to captain rohit without mahi If rohit doesn't win against hardhitters Wi, they want to remove #MakeRohitIndianCaptain Its a dangerous politics #Dhoni"

Heman Hashmi still believes Dhoni will make a strong comeback. He said on Twitter, "My Spartan will come Back with a roar...U Can exclude him frm T20 But Not frm Our Heart.... His Chapter can not be closed without his Helicopter & his consent...#Dhoni"

Other important facts of the selection:

India's regular skipper Virat Kohli has been rested in the T20I series against Windies. In absence of Kohli, his deputy Rohit Sharma will lead the team in the series, which will commence on Nov 4.

However, Kohli will be back in the national side to play and lead India in the T20I series against Australia.

Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik will be the two wicket-keepers of India in the upcoming T20 series against Windies and Australia.
